Here's a rare treat for true-blue fans of the "Sheldon" comic strip: The first appearance of Sheldon anywhere! Sheldon originally appeared as one of four characters in Dave Kellett's college strip, "Four Food Groups of the Apocalypse." That strip was collected into book form in 1996, titled "A Well Balanced Meal." The year this book was published, the strip took second place in the Scripps Howard College Cartoonist Contest. Within six months, the book sold through three printings, and was featured on a local NBC news program. Only 4,000 of these books were ever printed, and will never go into print again.
