For sale in this auction is a Marvel Comics #1. This issue features the first appearance of the Human Torch, The Angel and Kazar and the origin of The Sub-Mariner. It is currently ranked 3rd on Overstreet's list of most valuable comics ever published with a top guide value of $460,000. As indicated in the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, Marvel Comics #1 ranks alongside Action Comics #1 and Detective Comics #27 as one of the top three most significant and valuable Golden Age comic books in our hobby. This particular comic has amazing eye appeal. The book was originally missing the back cover but was otherwise complete. The book has been professionally restored with the following work: back cover has been recreated, front cover has some small pieces added along edges and some tear tear seals along with professional color touch. The mending of the back cover to front is seamless. The magnificent eye appeal of this copy simply can not be overstated. If not for some non-colorbreaking wear this issue would have the eye appeal of a VF comic. The book is extremely difficult to find with all colors properly registered and The Human Torch often looks “blurry” on even high grade copies. This copy's terrific color alignment and strike makes it that much more appealing.
