*****MARVEL MYSTERY COMICS #9***** Marvel/Timely, 1940. Classic issue, scarce. Sub-Mariner vs. Human Torch battle issue, the first time 2 super-heroes are together in a comic book. One of the very few comics listed as scarce in the Overstreet Price Guide. Classic cover & art. This copy was just recently found in an attic, inside a wall, along with a small collection of Golden Age comics and items from 1940-1942. I purchased these from the home owner, and I will be posting them all for sale in the coming days. What a terrific find! All the books have been untouched for many years, and all are unrestored lower grade copies. This book has never been at market for sale, to the knowledge of the people I bought this from. Condition: Unrestored, GD to GD+ 2.0-2.5 The book is complete with all 32 individual actual pages, for 64 story and ad pages, plus cover. All pages are attached to the cover, except the centerfold is detached at both staples and is loose. Nice overall paper quality, some small nicks and tears at some edges. Heavy cover soiling, some creasing, and the book's paper edges are soiled. There is also a spine roll. Presents well, and has no large missing pieces from the cover, just a few tiny instances on the front cover. No interior writing or markings. I've done my best to accurately describe this HOLY GRAIL issue, but I realize grading is always subjective, so I've included multiple scans and photographs of the book.
