Nick Fury, Agent of Shield #1-15 NEAR MINT BOUND VOLUME Picture(s) and Description:

BOUND VOLUME of Complete Run of Marvel's 1960's Nick Fury, Agent of Shield #1-15 VF/NEAR MINT- BEAUTIES!!! Art by Steranko, Barry Smith!!! Features the art of Jim Steranko at the height of his artistic powers, with those Mod layouts, costumes and page designs This bound volume features issues 1 through 15, with Steranko art in issues 1-5, Steranko covers through #7. Issues 6-15 feature the art of Frank Springer and Herb Trimpe. Trimpe's designs in those early issues feature an attempt to be Mod and "Groovy" as Steranko had, in his own style. Issue #12 features some of the earliest Marvel work by Barry Winsor-Smith, working in full Kirby-copy mode in a beautifully drawn story. Crisply bound in leatherette hardcover with acid free binding and endpapers by Bote Productions of New York in the early 70's, these books are for the most part VERY FINE or better with full cover gloss, crisp sharp corners. As is common with late 60's Marvel books, the pages are yellowing, but are consistent in tone and are soft but strong and flexible, not at all brittle. Covers show some edge browning on white interiors but are all full gloss and supple and flexible. No foxing, no marvel chipping in any way. There is a small tear to three of the Trimpe books (#13,14 & 15) at the bottom at the binding, no larger than 1/4" and shown in scan. Small india ink drip at rear top affecting only the last 12 pages of the last issue in the volume (#15) with less than 1/4" of staining at top at back cover. See scan. These comics have been sewn into a hardcover file-worthy binding, which by its nature causes some bending at the spines, visible in scan. These books may have been trimmed to facilitate the binding process (ensuring even book edges) but there appears to be a full border on all pages and whatever trimming may have been done has been extremely slight and very carefully done to ensure the integrity of these books. This is a one-of-a-kind item, perfect for your collection!
