Original KISKALOO Comic Art by CHRIS SANDERS Picture(s) and Description:

17" x 14" - ink on bristol by Chris Sanders 2007 Chris Sanders joined Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1987 where his first project was The Rescuers Down Under as a visual development artist. Chris later moved into the story department where he storyboarded several sequences of Beauty & the Beast, including the Beast’s death and magnificent resurrection. Later, Sanders developed new concepts for Disney’s Fantasia 2000, but was quickly drawn into The Lion King as the film’s production designer. On Disney's 1998 film, Mulan, Sanders lent his talents as co-head of story and screenwriter. His work on that film earned him two Annie Awards in the storyboarding and screenwriting categories. Sanders made his directorial debut with Lilo & Stitch, based on his own concept, and also provided the voice for Stitch. He is currently directing How To Train Your Dragon at Dreamworks with his Lilo co-director Dean DeBlois. Chris has donated this really wonderful and whimsical drawing based on his Kiskaloo character. His deft ability with a brush is stunning while his loose red pencil work can be seen in light tones throughout. This is a real gem of a piece from one of the most respected animation artists of today. IN ADDITION, on the reverse side of this drawing is an abandoned pencil sketch Chris did at some point along the way. He must have just turned the bristol board over and started over with the leaf pile drawing. Be sure to check out our other auctions of Chris Sanders art, including a tattooed girl and a sketch of Stitch on our Group Drawing (ending Jan 31)! Please check out our other auctions (with more going up February 4) of cartoon art from ILLUSTRATION, ANIMATION, COMIC STRIPS, COMIC BOOKS, and SCULPTURE donated by the studios and artists themselves to raise money to Help the Hodges! ONE NOTE: As with all our auction items "HelpTheHodges.com" is just a digital "watermark" on the scan, and is NOT a part of the actual artwork.
